CERT. AYURVEDIC HEALTH & SELF CARE COACH & BINGE EATING RECOVERER ON STAFF
The difference between Emotional Eating and Binging is sometimes small.
Are you unsure if you are struggling with Binge Eating or Emotional Eating? The difference is sometimes small, especially when EE happens to you on a regular basis. The main difference is that where a binge may feel like you are completely unable to say no to the food, emotional eating doesn’'t necessary have to feel that way. Binge Eating is often done in large amounts and in secret. EE is often used to change our mood with food, in an attempt not to feel something which seems hard to feel. Binge Eating is more impactful oftentimes, since it comes with aftereffects of disgust, shame & guilt and sometimes feeling sick due to the amount of food consumed.
Emotional Eating by itself has nothing wrong with it. It is okay every once in a while to use food to feel better, yet we don’t want to have it as a primary way to deal with our feelings.
We focus on both emotional eating & binge eating in our coaching programs.
During our first conversations (Book your Free Discovery call here) we will look together which type of coaching might suit you best, if you are unsure!

I am so happy you are here!
My name is Iza and I am a Binge Eating Disorder recoverer & the woman behind Living Lightly. After finding my own way out of my struggle around food and my body, I feel so passionate to share what I have learned and was trained to teach along my own journey!
‘I used to beat myself up every single day, trying to fit my body and my being into a mold I thought I needed to fit into. It caused me to walk away from myself for years, not listening or caring about my inner voice and my bodies needs.
We are NOT told how to sit with our emotions, how to be around food or how to LOVE our bodies.
No one prepared us how to properly take care of ourselves and our body and it is time for us TO DO SO!
My struggle with Food and body used to take over my whole life,
The main thought on my mind every single day, used to be about food.
‘What to eat, what NOT to eat, when to eat…‘
Walking around with this belief that I couldn’t trust myself with food, because I so often ate way more than felt good to my body.
It was taking away so much energy and distracted me so much from living my life and enjoying the people I loved and the beautiful experiences I was having.
When I decided that enough was enough, I started this journey of healing.
I started to shift my believes around food and practiced honoring my body instead of criticizing it. I learned how to deal with the urges to binge/overeat and not let it take me with it on it's clashing waves. I understood other ways to cope with everything I was feeling emotionally, which was most often the reason I went to food in the first place. My WHOLE life changed because of it.
I wish this for you too.
I wish for you to experience this life of ease and freedom around food, where it doesn't occupies so much mental space as it may do now. I wish you to love your body with all its uniqueness and to see the capability, power and love you have within you.

Reprogramming & working with the brain
When we are stuck in a binge/emotional eating pattern, our desire to go to food becomes so strong it almost feels impossible to resist. When we act out in a similar way time and time again, we create neurological pathways in our brain. ‘Neurons who fire together, start to wire together.’
To stop binging/emotional eating patterns, we need to work with the brain in a very similar way, using the concept of neuroplasticity to our own benefit. Overtime, the neurological patterns will weaken and the impulses to binge/overeat will disappear altogether!

I am not overeating on a daily basis, is this type of Coaching still helpful for me?
Yes, most definitely. Every individual is on a different point on the scale and has a unique experience with their food intake. You will find that most of the women are not dealing with overeating on a daily basis, yet it is something that keeps coming back and is interfering with their joy and happiness.
If you are feeling like your relationship with food is not as healthy/helpful as you would like it to be and you have moments where you are eating more than you want (where there is this loss of control-feeling), this type of Coaching can be of incredible benefit. Whether it is in the group coaching or in the private setting, we always create space for your individual needs of healing and we’ll therefore walk the path that is meant for your specific goals and wishes.
I am sure I want to sign up for the coaching, I am just not sure if I should go for the program in a group?
I totally understand that. I also prefer to have a deep dive in a more private session when it comes to coaching. Therefore I still have the opportunity for you to work with me 1-on-1.
Another thing I want to say though, is that there is a special power that healing in a group brings us. Something happens when you are surrounded by women who are healing from something similar, yet you are doing it together. It feels magical. You get to connect with others that truly understand what you are moving through and who are there to fully support and lift you up, in addition to me being there. I have found in my own journey that having an accountability partnerto share with, was one of the most helpful parts of my recovery process.
We are always making sure we create a very safe, intimate environment where we are able to discuss vulnerable topics openly with each other.
When is this type of Coaching truly right for me?
This type of Coaching is for you, if you are ready for make a lasting and deep change in your life. If you have come to this point of: ‘Enough is enough’ & you want to commit yourself to this process of healing.
Commitment and showing up for yourself is the first and most important step to take in your recovery.
In addition to that, this coaching is meant for women who are facing challenges around overeating, emotional eating & binge eating. It might be that you are dealing with guilt and shame around your food choices and your body and are experiencing a feeling of ‘loss of control’ around food in a way that feels out of balance in your life.
When does the group program start?
Our Group coaching starts every first Sunday of the month and takes 8 weeks. When the group is complete, we will find a time of day that works well for everybody. When it comes to the private coaching, we will decide together a time and day which works for both of us.
What does this type of coaching include?
In case of both the Group Coaching and the Private Coaching, the program exists out of 8 weeks. It is 8 weeks, because we are truly going on a journey together. Healing your relationship with food is a gradual process that we want to allow the space and time it needs. Throughout these 8 weeks, we will have a weekly Zoom call. During the calls we work on specific steps connected to your healing. We get to share & dive deeper. We do writing exercises, learn about practical tools to use and heal deeper through sharing and questioning.
After each session there will be some homework to focus on for the week ahead. The group coaching also provides a Whatsapp group for some exra support.
In addition to the Group Coaching there is the option to choose a Mix of Private & Group Coaching to go ABOVE & BEYOND. This package includes the Group Coaching Program & 2 x 60 minute extra Private Coaching Sessions to dive deeper into your own personal goals.
Lastly, you can start out with a single session. This is a 120 minute session to get clear on the necessary steps to take to make some profound changes in your relationship with food. This option is great f you first want to get a taste about what the Coaching Programs will feel like. There is a discount when you decide afterwards to join one of the programs.
