It also has been my number one struggle for most of my life, which is why I am so passionate about working within this theme.

The holistic approach has been the game-changer that changed my life, after about two decades of dealing with crippling anxiety and panic attacks.

Holistic Therapy is incredible for anxiety, because:

  1. It focuses on a top-down and bottom-up approach - When anxiety hits, our prefrontal cortex often is offline, making it really difficult to think our way out of it. Through nervous system regulation, we’re reminding our mind through our body that it is actually safe.

  2. Building self-agency and self-efficacy: I truly believe in the importance of expanding your window of tolerance. That means learning properly how to regulate your own system, as well as expanding your capacity to stay in touch with yourself when there are anxious or unsafe feelings.

  3. Going beyond just mental insight - While our brain often understands the exact patterns and solutions, our body needs time and repetition. Oftentimes, when anxiety is there, we feel uncomfortable within relaxation (waiting for the next shoe to drop). Through a body-focused approach, we refamiliarize ourselves with safety, so we can return back to deeper relaxation.
