What can you expect from the With Ease Massage Practitioner training
Today, I want to share a more in-depth look at what you can expect when joining one of our With Ease Massage Practitioner Trainings.
For the past three years, I’ve had the pleasure of offering these trainings, and it has been one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever created. Our community has now grown to over 100 people, and many have gone on to work as massage practitioners—some for other companies, but most of them independently.
In previous articles, I’ve explored the importance of holding a safe space during massage therapy and the reason I started offering these trainings three years ago. You can check out these articles here:

What to expect during the training
Each With Ease Massage Practitioner Training starts at 9:30 AM at our location. Sometimes, we hold the training in our own clinic space, and other times in a nearby location in Sloterdijk, Amsterdam.
As everyone slowly trickles in, we begin the day with a ceremonial opening. Once the group has arrived, we take time for introductions, getting to know each other, and setting the structure for the day. This is a playful and open space where we can share a bit about ourselves, how we're feeling, and what brought us here.
The day follows a structured format. After some initial theory, we divide the group into two:
One half starts receiving the massage
The other half begins giving the massage
During the morning session, one group will be guided through the full massage sequence, while the other half gets to fully relax and experience receiving (imagine a 3-hour full-body massage after your morning coffee—yum 😋 !).
After this first round, we take a break and go out for lunch. I believe it's essential to refresh the mind and body, step out of the learning space for 1–2 hours, and nourish ourselves before coming back for round two.
In the afternoon, the second group learns the full sequence while the first group gets to enjoy receiving the massage.
At the end of the day, we again sit together in circle and have our celebratory moment of receiving the certificate of participation. Here we will also dive into some details on the next steps to master your skill and start your own practice.
What you’ll learn
Throughout the day, we dive deep into the following areas:
✅ Learn techniques for a 60-90 minute With Ease oil massage
✅ Develop sensitivity to non-verbal cues and adjust your touch accordingly
✅ Create a safe space where someone can fully relax and let go
✅ Maintain your own energy as a therapist to prevent burnout
✅ Breathwork – Using the breath to deepen relaxation and release tension
✅ Posture & Positioning – Proper body mechanics for ease and flow
✅ Body Awareness – Practicing body scans to enhance connection
✅ Ceremonial Openings & Closings – Creating a sense of safety and intention
✅ Emotional Processing – Using pendulation (Somatic Experiencing) to guide someone between discomfort and ease
✅ Holding Space – Supporting emotional release in a grounded, professional way
✅ Professional Touch – Ensuring attuned, intentional, and ethical touch
✅ The Power of Curiosity – Cultivating openness in a healing space
This is just a glimpse into what you’ll experience in the training, but I hope it gives you a sense of what’s waiting for you. 😃
