The Breath

written by Iza Wijffels

Recently I realized that if my breath would be the only thing I would focus on during the day, to refrain from stress, I would totally be okay. I have always been the person who can analyze my belief systems to the end of times, which often just leaves me more stressed out than before. Healing the mind with more mind, almost never works.

The breath is like our most reliable friend out there. It's the one thing we can ALWAYS control when we're aware and it's the one thing that will both influence our physical as well as our mental state, within seconds.

When we're in a tranquil state, our breath is deep, rhythmic and unhurried. We fill our lungs slowly and exhale gently, with no rush or tension.

Sometimes the simplicity of the solution can brings confusion, as our experience can feel so overwelming.

But let's start here. Let's start by breathing in life and reminding our bodies that we are alive.
