Poem: Precious time

So the other day we walked & suddenly found ourselves in deep conversations with a young man, sitting the three of us, on the edge of the side walks

A journey paused for a meeting between us.

& I noticed how magical it felt, to decide to invest time in connecting with one another. Saying so much more than words that triple from mouths and enter ears.

By investing time into each other we say:‘I believe you’re worthy of a little piece of my life.’

Time is the most valuable currency we carry, even with empty pockets.

& we invest it to experience each other for a moment.

We can count the amount we have only backwards & only in hindsight but e knew how rich someone exactly was.

A currency that seems to expand with presence and fleets with stress.

So sitting down, on the sidewalk of life with someone, is the most beautiful gift we equally give each other.

We say:’ I’d like to invest myself into this connection, without knowing how much time I have left’
