The list of Confidence

We have about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day.

95% of these thoughts are exactly the same ones as the previous day.

We think about the same things over and over again.

Our thoughts are creating the energy that moves through our body, as our emotions, therefore eventually influencing the ways we interact with this world.

Therefore our thoughts have great power.

We can focus with our conscious mind on specific topics.

Due the system called the Reticular activating system, we have the neural ability of selective attention. it means we filter our surroundings in a particular way.

Remember these moments in your life when you thought about buying something or traveling somewhere and suddenly you see that specific item or location mentioned everywhere?

Sometimes we use this ability passively and we find ourselves focused on problems and lack in our lives.

Suddenly we feel insecure and anxious and we don’t know where it came from.

To use the power of our attention in an active way that is working for us, we can use this beautiful practice I want to share with you.

It's an easy tool to incorporate this scavenger hunt towards the thoughts and external triggers which make us feel good.

It's both a reminder of what is true and a way to increase our selective attention toward these feel-good spaces.

Over time, due to the neuroplasticity of our mind, we will engrain these beliefs deeper.

Step 1

Write a list on your phone with all the reasons why you can feel good about yourself. (I use a Whatsapp chat with just myself in it)

Let's write:

  • All the ways in which you are proud of yourself (things you do, achievements, traits that are specific to you, etc)

  • All the ways in which you love yourself

  • Memories of moments you can think back of and they make you feel good

  • Messages from loved ones (or testimonials from clients) to remind you of your greatness (I just forward it to this Whatsapp group)

Step 2

Read this list every day and keep adding to it.

Make it this beautiful daily practice of reminding yourself of how amazing you already are. (:

*Important note

This list is not meant to be the external reasoning to put you higher on the worthiness meter.

(damn you're already worthy of all the good, incredible, beautiful, easy, powerful things, just by being alive)

It's simply a tool to use to work consciously with our minds and their focus.

Everything can be either medicine or poison depending on the intention you use it with, so keep checking in with yourself (:

I would love to hear from you if you tried this out & to hear your thoughts!

Lots of love,

Iza
